Gauri Adelkar

Gauri is an award winning filmmaker, based in Boston & New York City. She is passionate about cinema that examines the world we live in, and believes that effective storytelling can help change it. In 2014, she won the Best Director award at the Boston International Film Festival, for her debut film, The Theft, which has screened at several international film festivals. Gauri was one of 20 women nominated for India NewEngland’s Woman of the Year, 2014.

Her work has featured in publications such as the MovieMaker magazine, IMAGINE, Maharashtra Times, The Immigrant magazine, Lokvani & NewEnglandFilm.com. Her latest project is, “Raising Men”, a documentary produced by DAWN, which she shot in India. She is also a volunteer for People’s Archive of Rural India. She holds a M.S in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University and is currently a MFA in Film candidate at Columbia University, NY.
