Rowena Kay Mascarenhas

Communications Adviser

Rowena is Communications Adviser to DAWN Worldwide. She has two decades of cross-sectoral global exposure, spearheading the communications and marketing functions at for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Her expertise and skills cover communications strategy, public-private partnerships, digital marketing, storytelling, and the ability to forge productive relationships with diverse stakeholders and build community.Rowena holds a Masters in Management Studies, and a double Bachelors – B.Ed-SE and B.Comm. She has earned a Certificate in Social Innovation (2020) from the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance, University of Washington and received a Women in Leadership Award (2021) from the WILL Forum for championing the cause of marginalized women in inner cities and remote rural areas. Her other certifications include ADHD Strategies for Elementary Students from SUNY, Breaking Down Barriers: RTE from the University of Glasgow, and Gender Equality and Development from the WB.

 

She feels very lucky to have the opportunity of supporting DAWN Worldwide’s mission to forge a more humane world that is safe for women and girls.
